How Drug Verification Works

Three easy steps for accurate, rapid drug verification

To improve patient safety and enhance the quality and productivity of pharmaceutical operations, Centice has created the PASS Rx system to assist in the drug verification process.

The PASS Rx System provides a full chemical analysis through the vial to rapidly and accurately verify the majority of dispensed capsules and tablets (brand and generic). The PASS Rx System offers the most reliable solution for reducing dispensing errors on the market today.

While the process is simple, the technology behind the verification is scientifically proven. Patented sensors analyze the chemical composition as well as the image data of the size, color and shape of the tablet or capsule, then rapidly checks the results against our proprietary, comprehensive drug database. The process is as easy as 1-2-3.

STEP 1 – SCAN AND INSERT

Scanning the NDC data on the barcode of any size vial provides the drug name and strength information needed to compare the drug sample before inserting it into the PASS Rx chamber.

STEP 2 – VERIFY

Pressing the “Verify” button starts a molecular-level verification of the contents of tablets and capsules (brand and generic). As the vial spins, multiple sensors are verifying the contents through the vial.

STEP 3 – RESULT

A unique spectral fingerprint and image data of the size, color and shape of the drug are created. Then, this result is compared to Centice’s embedded proprietary database to ensure an objective and reliable verification.
