RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – January 19, 2006 – Centice Corporation, a pioneer in next generation sensor technology, today announced the appointment of Arthur Bergens, Jr., as Chief Financial Officer. Bergens will be responsible for leading the company’s financial strategy and growth.
Bergens has more than 22 years of financial leadership experience. Most recently and through the sale of Unitive Inc. to Amkor Technology, Inc., Bergens was vice president of finance and administration of Amkor and its Wafer Level Packaging Business Unit. Amkor is a $2 billion publicly traded provider of contract semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, and test services. Prior to the sale of Unitive, Bergens was chief financial officer of Unitive Inc, where he lead the financial and administrative strategy that lead to several years of continuous financial growth.

Prior to Unitive, Bergens served as vice president and chief financial officer at Modus Media International, Inc., a global provider of supply chain management solutions to the high technology industry with annual revenue of over $600 million. In that role, he managed the financial responsibilities for the Americas region, which included 10 locations throughout the United States and Mexico, and he led the region’s senior finance team. As part of the Americas regional management team, Bergens was instrumental in establishing the company’s presence in Mexico, the integration of an acquisition, and the reorganization of the Americas’ operations.
Bergens has also served as chief financial officer for TANO Automation, Inc., which develops, engineers, and manufactures microprocessor-based control systems for the marine, oil, gas, water and wastewater industries. He also spent nearly a decade at Ernst and Young, where he held the position of manager in the New Orleans office.

Bergens holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans and graduated summa cum laude with a MBA from Campbell University of North Carolina. He is also a licensed certified public accountant in both Louisiana and North Carolina.
